The PHOENIX…
This top down, aerial view of a soaring Phoenix is the symbol found centered above the initials of PMG.  The Phoenix has been passed down through the ages with its origin somewhere between Egyptian, Greek, and Roman mythology.  It is said to have been a magnificent bird, similar to an eagle today, but with gorgeous red and golden plumage. 

How does this historic bird relate to Wealth Management?  The story has more meaning today than years past as people look to rebuild portfolios and rise above to meet their personal goals. 

The Phoenix is said to have lived for 500 years with only one living at a time.  During its life the magnificent bird always looked upward toward the sun.  Here is our first metaphor to optimism that we need to recognize. 

As this mythical bird neared the end of its 500 years it would build a large nest, set it a fire, and allow itself to be consumed by the flames.  Out of the ashes another Phoenix would emerge, just as strong and incredible as the last.  This is where the term “rising from the ashes” has its origin.  It is this second metaphor that has the most relevance to wealth management today.
